Belle is 28 years old and has been with me since I was born. She’s a soft toy of Snoopy’s sister, about 8 inches tall and although she’s a bit frayed and worn, she means everything to me. She’s supported me through every one of life’s ups and downs. She helped me when my Mum was fighting to beat breast cancer. She’s been with me through my own recent operation. We have travelled the world together. She’s climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, been to the top of the Empire State building and visited the ruins of Pompeii. Belle has always been with me, helping me cope with the good and the bad times.
Now things couldn’t get any worse because she has been taken from me. My heart is broken.
My Mum and I had flown over from England for a holiday last week. At some stage between noon and 3pm on December 4, 2008, our gold Chrysler Van was broken into in Jersey Gardens, NJ parking lot. The thieves took a number of bags containing valuables but nothing as valuable as Belle. She was wrapped inside a white and green patterned cotton bag, which was in a shiny purple Samsonite holdall. She’s got a plastic tag tied around her waist with my UK zip code and phone number.
I can’t imagine spending my first Christmas in 29 years without her. So if anyone has seen her or can or can help me get her back, I would be so immensely grateful.
